
Crane Operator Classes Oshawa - For the operators and the supervisors, current and new, the crane operator training course is suitable for all. Course content deals with relevant provincial, state and federal safety regulations. The training's first part comprises complete in-class lessons and test. Following that is a hands-on customized session with practical instruction and evaluation.
The content of the course applies to all categories and types of overhead lifting crane machines. The instruction will specifically focus on all aspects of crane operation that could be carried out at the trainee's workplace. Upon completing the course, individuals training would know how to operate specific overhead lifting machines, attachments and related parts efficiently and safely.
The purpose of the operator course is to identify any potentially dangerous habits that an operator could develop when operating an overhead crane. Costly damage to equipment and products could be prevented with proper habits. Training reduces the chance of a workplace injury or incident taking place.
The course would encompass approximately eight hours of classroom instruction with a couple of hours of on-site, hands-on, customized training. Participants will be graded on their knowledge of training material via an assessment of their practical knowledge and written tests. The minimum acceptable score is eighty percent.
In the in-class session, participants would learn applicable causes of occurrences and damages, legislation and guidelines, hazard awareness, internal responsibility, design principles and basic equipment, capacity ratings/load weight calculations, pre-shift equipment checks, safe hoisting/operating techniques, types of hardware, equipment applications/rigging, angles and hitches, operator/pedestrian safety, turning/flipping loads safely, hand signals for slingers and operators.
The practical training and evaluation part of the course should be pre-scheduled. This customized portion of the training will be held at the trainees' facility. The duration of this practical training part is one to two hours. Two operators at a time would be trained by the instructor on skills like for instance safe operation, planning the lift and right rigging practices.
Upon completion of the in-class instruction and the practical operating instruction and evaluation, the trainee will write an exam. Signed safety rules would be needed from each participant. Individual wallet certificates would be given to successful trainees. A framed wall certificate will be provided to the company.
